It took some time for the penny to drop; until the last verse in fact. My favourite bits: "the law was in four of them", "if you are a house, "the children caught Osama", "made of the the tachycardia" and "global" which is obviously a colour I've never heard of. Strange that it can't understand the same phrase the same way every time!

Strangely, even though the words were garbled, the rhythm came through just enough for me to get it and then the one ungarbled phrase clinched it.

I think it's the rhythm of the song that garbled the words, so I suppose it makes sense that the garbled words express that rhythm.

I think those really garbled phrases come when the software is struggling to make any sense of it, and grasps at straws, so the slightest change in my pronunciation tips that into grasping at different straws.

I used to sing it in singing class; I wasn't actually a ginormous fan, but it's so earwormy I've never been able to quite get it out of my head.
