In which she realises why Boots was having trouble getting through the magnetic cat door

If I were a cat's collar which had hitherto been securely fastened around its owner's neck for almost two years, where would I be?

(I do have a spare magnetic thing; I don't have a spare collar to put it on. I'll have to buy one tomorrow morning I guess. Also find out if it's possible to get spare magnetic things in case it was Boots' wiles to blame, rather than the collar's age, and she loses this one too.)

Not sure. A colleague tells me one can in fact buy replacements -- not overly cheap, but easier than trying to make one.
