So I was attempting to filk "Let It Snow" in order to be more appropriate for local Christmas weather conditions, and I accidentally made it inappropriate for almost any possible purpose.

Not so long ago, I was struck with an awareness that it really matters who is singing; this was brought on by Florence Welch singing "Sky Full of Song", because while they can sing "I was kissing strangers, it was causing such a scene" in a wry and self-deprecating way that makes it sympathetic and endearing, imagining it in any male voice makes that impossible. In Leonard Cohen's voice it'd be troubling; in the voice of whoever fronts for Nickelback it's be grounds for calling emergency numbers.

While you have done an entirely poetically cromulent job of the lyrics -- I especially admire "It's weird though that God's so silent: -- goodness but I can't imagine anyone who could sing them.
