Quit raising your postage rates when I've barely started on the sheet of stamps from last time you raised your postage rates.

(Open memo to self: if you submitted stories more regularly you wouldn't have so many stamps left on the sheet.)

Fortunately, last time they did this to me I had the foresight to get a bunch of 5c stamps along with my new-full-price stamps. Unfortunately, this time they've raised the price by 6c. Fortunately at the rate I send out postal submissions I've probably got enough to last me until the end of the year anyway.

Heh -- I buy a few sheets of one-cent stamps every so often and just use a lot of them when rates increase, and I live there.

More and more short-story markets take electronic submissions.

Yes, that's part of the reason I'm not using very many stamps. Still, I do want to be able to keep submitting to F&SF and other snail-mail-only places.

The only place that will (theoretically) sell stamps to a furriner does not carry stamps which will allow me to send a letter overseas, so I have to throw 2cents away every time I use a stamp.

OTOH, I haven't been able to make the website work yet, so this might remain theoretical :-(
