rasfc is actually behaving like its old self. There are thriving discussions of writing going on. Even aside from those of us in the create-a-thread-to-save-the-group pseudo-conspiracy, there are now regulars who'd fallen quiet coming back and creating their own new threads. There are other chatty discussions going on all friendly-like. (And somewhere behind my killfiles I think That Thread continues, and also we have a new pet troll, but, y'know, I didn't say it was perfect, I said it was like its old self.) I'm knocking on wood that this will last.

But it just coincidentally gets heaps better when I lose newsaccess? I hope it is just coincidence...

You're fine. This is just delayed improvement from my departure. It takes ... a couple of weeks ... to propagate to all the news servers.

Did you read the thing about narcissists recently linked on Making Light? It made the same point, that people interacting with narcissists may start to doubt their sanity, but that's actually evidence they're sane - they have the capacity to question their own contribution to the situation.

Are we about to have one of those "It's my fault!" "No, I insist it's my fault!" arguments? :-)

It's better because plenty of people are making An Effort, also DF has latched onto the current troll and is actually - when faced with a threat from the outside - defending views he used to violently oppose when they were directed at him.
